England Day 04: Onwards out of the city

So today, our goal was to head over to a small city near Bath to meet with my dad's old friend. For this we require a vehicle, which we rented for 3 days.
This is yon chariot that we commandeered. It is a Audi A3 TDI (Turbo Diesel) hatchback and it's got a manual transmisson!!!
So here is the original Windsor! Coming from Windsor Ontario, it's really neat to see what Windsor, UK looks like! First of all, it's not a border city and it's hilly!
Here's one of the outside walls of the Windsor Castle
I just kept on taking a lot of snapshots as there was so many things to see!
Once in, we were allowed to take pictures, but only of the outside! Unfortunate because there's lots to see. Ah well. This is a pic of the tour group ahead of us, just within the main walls.
From the outside looking in! This is a picture of one of many openings of the exterior castle wall that the archers of old used to use to defend the castle.
Here's the central fortress where the King would hide in case the castle walls were overrun. There used to be a moat that surrounded the castle, but that has been drained for a very lovely garden.
Here's the inner courtyard. This picture was taken shortly before going in, to see the royal kitchen. The royal kitchen was simply amazing. It's believed to be the oldest kitchen that is still in use today. It is hypothesized to be well over 800 years old due to tree dating of the ceiling timbers above.

Here's a picture of the chapel in the Windsor Castle
Oh here's the Royal Guard! I was trying to catch them so that I could take a picture.

And I finally got take a picture with one of the royal guards....I don't know how they stay so still.
